Annual Programme 2023
The 2023 programme turns the spotlight on social and political issues: from Käthe Kollwitz and Mona Hatoum, whose work reflects on displacement and vulnerability, and the themed exhibition ‘Re-Orientations’, which examines the significance of Islamic art for early modernism in Europe and contemporary art, to Marcel Broodthaers’s interrogation of the museum as institution. The Kunsthaus’s new Director, Ann Demeester, looks beyond the programme for next year, which has been drawn up jointly by her predecessor Christoph Becker and the curators, and offers some initial thoughts on the Kunsthaus’s approach in 2024.
