From 20 March 2026, the Kunsthaus Zürich will present 'In Transition. The Bührle Collection', a transitional display featuring selected works. At the same time, work is underway on the new main presentation, which will open in early 2027.
Art for all
North American Indigenous traditions meet modern and contemporary art: powerful, vibrant works that weave cultural heritage with geometric abstraction and gestural expression – beyond stereotypes.
The second presentation of the Looser Collection focuses on the Italian artist Giuseppe Penone, one of the leading figures of Arte Povera.
Videoroom
In the video room, Cecilia Vicuña’s film work becomes tangible, blending poetry with political sensitivity and revealing language as a social force. Vicuña receives the 2025 Roswitha Haftmann Prize for her life’s work.

ReCollect!
As part of ReCollect!, Wu Tsang and Enrique Fuenteblanca create an intervention with collection works and a new sound installation. La montaña invertida transforms the domed hall into a space for listening and rethinking.
Collection Merzbacher
A highlight at Kunsthaus Zürich is the immersive installation consisting of 3,000 LED lights, accompanied by music.

Cash is coming back!
Starting 1 January 2026, cash payments will once again be possible at the Kunsthaus Zürich – at the ticket counters, in the shops and in the restaurants. We have listened: your feedback showed that the full switch to cashless payment came a bit too early. The Kunsthaus remains a place where art, encounters and experiences take centre stage – open and accessible to all.
